Response and Surveillance System for Childhood Lead Exposures (RASSCLE)
Description
The Response and Surveillance System for Childhood Lead Exposures (RASSCLE) is a case management and surveillance software program developed to help local health departments track, investigate, and follow up on lead poisoning cases. RASSCLE stores comprehensive data relevant to lead poisoning cases, including patient names, addresses, blood lead results, and follow-up data.
Business Alignment
The system is used by the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health Program (MCAHP) and Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) Public Health Nurse. These programs provide services to promote the well being of the community and focus their efforts on childhood lead poisoning prevention activities and services that help achieve program and public health strategic plan/performance measures as determine by state, federal and local agencies.

Service Qualification
Users from the MCAHP and CLPPP programs get added to the RASSCLE system after an internal request is submitted to the MCAHP CLPPP Managers. Users then access the system via Foxpro interface.

Service Elements
Service Desk/Incident Management
- User: Users that cannot access RASSCLE will initiate a Enterprise Help Desk service ticket
- Tier 1 - PHIS Help Desk Remote Access: PHIS Help Desk tries to resolve service ticket remotely. If unsuccessful, proceed to Tier 2
- Tier 2 – MCAHP Support Technician: PHIS Help Desk will refer user to MCAHP Support Technician (s) troubleshoot the issue. If unsuccessful, technician works with ISD and facility network technician to resolve ticket. If successful, technician goes to User’s PC to resolve service ticket. If ticket cannot be resolved, proceed to Tier 3
- Tier 3 – MCAHP CLPPP Managers Ticket with ISD: One of the designated facility staff will assign ticket to ISD Support
- Tier 4 – PHIS System Administrators Support: when done who will resolve the service ticket

Requirements
Minimum user requirements:
- This site will work optimally for users logging in with Internet Explorer browsers versions 8 or higher, as well as Chrome, Safari or Firefox. If you are using alternate browsers and experience display issues, please consider switching to one of the supported browsers.
Timelines
System available 24 hours 7 days.
Downtime for system upgrades: To minimize impact for RASSCLE users which run from 7:30 am – 5:00 pm, RASSCLE conducts system upgrades after hours. Immunization Support notifies all the impacted parties ASAP.
